The Incredible Pulk.
Imagine eight days in a remote wilderness region of Sweden of which four days will be spent outdoors pulk skiing, through winter forests set in the most incredible scenery whilst remaining self supported.
Travel from the UK to Sweden’s capital Stockholm, and then catch another internal flight to Ostersund. Upon arrival you will be met by Intrepid Expeditions’ members of staff, where transport will meet you at the airport and take you north to a remote location where Intrepid Expeditions is based for the winter. A hot meal will be waiting at the warm cosy cabin, all is needed now is to unpack and get some well deserved sleep.
The first thing that greets you in the morning is the view from the cabin. The cabin is basic inside but the view is priceless. After breakfast we travel to the local pulk makers, so that you can learn a bit about your pulk sledge that you are about to take away for the week.
In the evening there is a chance to try skiing at night under the most amazing starlit sky.
Again after breakfast the pulks will be loaded with all the team’s equipment needed for the next Four days. The next Four days will consist of skiing with pulks over various terrains, across frozen lakes, through coniferous woodlands, all set in some of the best scenery Sweden has to offer.
This will be complimented by sleeping in a tent (with burner) at night. You will experience four nights in total. Although skiing as part of a team, the team leader/s will be in contact with the rest of the Intrepid Expeditions team based back at the cabin. You can be reassured that snowmobile support will be at hand, just a radio or satellite phone call away.
Once we have arrived back at the cabin, all that needs to be done is to stoke up the hot tub and sauna under the stars and rest any aching limbs. Following this in the evening a meal will be cooked for the group in the cabin by our Swedish friends.
Breakfast and return to Ostersund airport for onward travel back to the UK.
