There are sections on the River Wye that make this stunning river and an ideal first time introduction to canoeing, or if you have canoed before just want some time outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of life.

We feel passionate that if this is your first time we don’t want you to be put off canoeing as just turning up and hiring worn out canoes etc isn’t going to get you off to a good start.

Let us guide you with qualified guides so you are in safe hands from the start and let us do all the behind the scenes work.

We offer the latest modern equipment, so you truly are getting value for money, and remember you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

This is a beautiful river with so much wildlife to be seen along the way, ranging from endless swans to Buzzards, to salmon leaping out of the water. it is truly beautiful river to be on.

Minimum group size is 4 to run the trip and maximum group size is 8 persons. We can go with larger groups but in our opinion it becomes an armada on the water and not as relaxing.

This is not an endurance event so please do not feel that you have to be an olympian athlete to participate.

However you must be able to swim 25 metres although we do not intend on swimming at all.

Please not campsites may change due to availability, if this is the case you will be told way in advance.
Please also note depending on the size of the group sometimes cars are needed to sort the shuttle runs, however this can be to your advantage when getting off the river.

Very much enjoyed this relaxing long weekend. Is a great intro with some nice gently moving sections of river. Was great to meet some new paddlers as well as to reconnect with some previous people and was amazed to see so much bird life as we travelled along.
Always a great trip with Nigel from Intrepid and look forward to our next trip already.

If you are new to canoeing and want a taster to see if it is for you, this is an ideal course. Easy flowing river with some fast flowing stretches to test you. Great scenery down this stretch. Easy access to the river from the camp sites each day. All under the great supervision of Nigel. Definitely worth it!
