Travel from the UK to Sweden's capital Stockholm, where you then catch the internal flight to Ostersund. You will then travel by minibus for about one hour to Åkersjon and the Hotel Fjällgården where we stay for the first night. Dinner will be served and the evening is spent relaxing before retiring to bed dreaming of snowmobiles
After a warm breakfast everyone will be issued warm clothing, helmets and of course a snowmobile. After a safety brief we head off for an exhilarating day exploring the magnificent mountain range bordering Norway. We stop for lunch at Jänsmässholmen , an old Sami school house, now transformed into a cosy hotel. In the afternoon we continue our ride through the snowy terrain until we reach Rörvattnets mountain Hotel where we spend the night. Dinner will be served and the evening is yours to spend as you wish.
Following breakfast its then back on the snowmobiles for a final blast across the stunning landscape, taking a different route back to our original start point. Along the way we stop at a frozen lake to try a spot of ice fishing. Back at Hotel Fjällgården the final evening will be spent around the dinner table reminiscing about your adventures. Also a chance to take advantage of a dip in the hot tub. Total distance covered: 130 Kilometres
After breakfast its time to head back to the airport at Östersund to catch the flight to Stockholm. Depending on flight times there may be a chance to do some shopping at Stockholm airport before returning to Heathrow.
All that is required is a current, valid 10 year passport and current European health insurance card.
Vaccinations: Tetanus is recommended.
December-April: Daytime temperatures average -15° Celsius and can drop to -30°C. With a dry atmosphere the temperature does not feel as cold as it sounds.
